Quarry dust is a by-product from the granite crushing process in quarrying activities. This paper presents the findings from experimental work undertaken to evaluate the suitability of quarry dust as a partial substitute for sand in high-strength concrete (HSC) containing rice husk ash (RHA).
The results obtained in the next stage suggest that even though the use of quarry dust as a partial substitute for sand results in some minor negative effects in the compressive strength and other mechanical properties of concrete, these outcomes can easily be compensated by a good mix design and by the incorporation of RHA.
(c) The compressive strength results of quarry dust concrete (cubes) were obtained in the third series, where M20, M25, and M30 grades of concrete with 20, 25, and 30 percent replacement of quarry dust and also workability are studied by varying the water-cement ratio …

Quarry Dust as a Partial Replacement of Coarse Aggregates in Concrete Production Aginam C. H1. Nwakaire, C2., Onah, B. C3. 1,2,3Department of Civil Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, P.M.B. 5025, Awka Abstract: This study is an attempt to investigate the suitability of quarry dust as a partial replacement of
sand with quarry dust on the properties of concrete. 2. Literature Review The suitability of quarry dust as a sand replacement material shows that the mechanical properties are improved and also elastic modulus. The compressive strength achieved optimum by replacing fine aggregate with quarry dust in ratio of 60 : 40 as done by Hmaid Mir .
Jun 06, 2016· Quarry dust a by- product from crushing process during quarrying activities is good alternative during construction projects. Partial Replacement of Sand by Quarry Dust in Concrete Sumit L. Chauhan, Raju A.Bondre Assistant Professor P. I. G. C. E. Nagpur . Abstract- The paper describe the role of quarry dust In the construction of buildings and other structures to eliminate the demand of natural sand by using quarry waste to replace the use of natural sand.
Jun 06, 2017· The demand of sand has increased greatly due to the technological advancements in the construction industry. The extraction of river sand adversely affects the ecological balance of the river. Hence alternatives to sand have been used nowadays. Th...
getting quarry dust easily and it is eco Friendly also so we can use quarry dust as a substitute for fine aggregate and we can check the strength, if strength remains same we can replace quarry dust as a substitute in the construction fields. In the production of concrete, fine aggregate place a vital role.

Quarry Process. Quarry process, also known as QP, dense grade aggregate (DGA), crusher run and road stone, is a combination of small, 3/4-inch-or-less crushed stone and stone dust. Most often it is made out of crushed limestone, granite-gneiss, trap rock or a combination of the aforementioned.
Recycled Concrete Sand (PTY) Ltd is a dynamic innovative company based in Cape Town South Africa. The reduction in the sources of natural sand and the requirement for reduction in the cost of concrete production has resulted in the increased need to identify substitute material to sand as fine aggregates in the production of concretes especially in Concrete.
